How fun is this??  Have a movie themed birthday party... Sit around and watch all your favorite movies with all of your favorite friends...  And, of course, have a cake to fit the theme!!

 It was SOOO fun to learn how to make popcorn out of fondant!

80's theme birthday cake

Who doesn't love a themed birthday party??

In order to get all aspects of the 80's, the birthday girl found pictures of several cakes that she like parts of... and we incorporated them all into one cake.

Jungle Baby Reveal Cake

I had such a wonderful time making this baby reveal cake!

It's the newest craze, you know... parents throwing a party to reveal 

whether they will have a bouncing baby boy or girl.

Well... the excited mommy-to-be decided she wanted the cake decorated 

to match the theme of the baby's room - jungle.

Despite the fact that they said the animals were so cute,

It didn't keep them from cutting in. :)

Of course I had to include a sign with this cute little monkey.

Can you guess what they are having?? YAY! A little boy!

Horse cake

This birthday cake was made for a young girl who loves horses.

(I mean, honestly, what little girl isn't in love with horses sometime in their childhood??  I know I was!)

So, it was a true joy to make this cake for her!

Boxer dog cake

The birthday girl wanted her favorite little pooch (a boxer) to be part of the celebration.

Wouldn't you know it that her favorite cake is chocolate and so is her puppy's name?

Minecraft Cake

Do you know why I love doing cakes for others??  Because they open my world to know things that I wouldn't normally get to know about.

I made this Minecraft cake for a 13 year old who LOVES to play this game on his xbox 360.  I had no idea that this game even existed.  But I quickly learned of this pixelated world.

Here is the result...

It wouldn't be Minecraft without The Creeper. (the little green guy)

Tangled cake and cupcakes

This cake and cupcakes were made for a special little girl's 4th birthday.

She wanted cupcakes to share with her friends at her daycare.  Pascal is such a fun friend in the movie Tangled so we added him to the cupcake design.

Then her mom and I incorporated several ideas from different cakes to create the birthday girl's cake.
I love adding all the little details.

 Here's the tower before I added the Rapunzel hair.

 Here's the cake set up and ready to go for the party.  The tower was not edible, but the cakes underneath were.

Lamb baptism cake

I have always seen a lamb shaped cake for baptisms... I don't have that pan... and I always thought there had to be a cute substitute.
I think I found it.

That was the theme of the birthday... I made sure the cake followed suit.

25th Anniversary Dove Cake

This was made for a couple who were renewing their vows after 25 years.
She told me that they were releasing doves at their ceremony, that they loved the color lavender, and they wanted silver included in honor of their 25th.

Pokemon Card Cake

For my latest cake, the birthday boy is a huge Pokemon fan.
His parents requested a cake that looked like his favorite Pokemon card - Charizard.

Corgi dog sculpted cake

This little puppy was made for a retirement party... it was made to look like her pet corgi.

Angry Birds Cake

All birds and pigs were handcrafted by me.

The birthday boys LOVE to play Angry birds, so this seems like the perfect theme!

I like finding the little details that can make a cake that much more special.

You can't have an Angry Birds cake without an Angry bird attacking!
